Battle against climate change

Logical approaches to addressing climate change in the HVAC industry can provide both indoor and outdoor environmental improvement as well as financial benefits. “I have know Dave Strain for 27 years and his dedication to improve the Environment through his Pneumatic Control Strategies and Hydraulic Experiments have been a great asset to the Durham District School Board. Without them we would have not been able to achieve the millions of dollars in savings over all of those years.

His control logic and energy strategies have been the base on which we have built all of our direct digital control programs for our Building Environment Computers. We have been teaching our Operators these strategies for over 25 years. Our insistence in using these strategies have now been shared with all of the large Control Companies and Construction Engineers. These control strategies have been filtered down to the other school boards through these companies.

He has been our primary Controls Contractor for last 25 years. We are always surprised that even today he comes up with new and innovative designs. These designs are possible through all of the developmental research that he is doing. Even today we consult Mr. Strain on our control problems and how to save energy in other areas of our operations.”

Manager of Energy and Mechanical Design (1996-2004) at Durham District School Board
